‘Women’s empowerment is the future’: Women-led government university to open in Hyderabad

The Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (HMC) has approved plans to establish a women-led, government-owned university at the corner of the old Srikakula Road and Iqbal Road in Hyderabadi district.HMC President Pankaj Khandelwal said the university will serve as a catalyst for women’s empowerment and serve as an example of what it means to have a female head in government.

The government will also provide financial assistance to the university.

The state government’s Education Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said the project will provide opportunities for young women to develop their career and to advance.

The project is expected to open its doors in 2021.
