Kerala government colleges and universities govt awards medals to women who went to military college in Srikakula

The Kerala government has awarded a medal to a former woman cadre who went into the army in the 1950s.

The award, which has been given by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, was made on Thursday.

The medal, which is for “service to the nation” and “service rendered to the cause of women”, was made by the Government of Kerala.

It was awarded to M. Anil Suddath, who was a cadre in the battalion that was led by the then Chief Minister P.K. Sen. The cadre had been in the military for 17 years and went into service at the age of 18.

She was part of the regiment that was part-funded by the Central Government, which also funded the training of women cadres.
