The government has created a scholarship for government degree college students.
The scheme, to be launched soon, provides government students with a stipend of up to 50,000 rupees ($5,100) for their first two years of study.
The scholarship is worth up to $50k per student per year for students who want to pursue a higher level of study, the government said.
For the remaining two years, the scholarship is free.
Students must complete the course of study within three years from their commencement date, it added.
There is no cap on the amount of funds that can be paid out by the government.
The government said that the scholarships are not intended for the sole purpose of helping students in their studies, but instead as a way to support students with financial support for their education.
A number of other government colleges are also looking to introduce similar scholarships.
